MICROSOFT OFFICE SHAREPOINT SERVER MOSS DEVELOPER

What you will be doing:

The Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing MOSS 2007 sites, workflows using InfoPath, web parts and content types using SharePoint tools, and Visual Studio .NET applications using C#. The MOSS Developer will apply industry accepted best practices, as well as principles and processes uniquely related to MOSS in deploying efficient and effective SharePoint capabilities across the IT Enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate and collaborate with end users in the development of new SharePoint based web site requirements.
  • Conduct analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, training, and deployment activities for SharePoint Server based web sites.
  • Participate in and make presentations for requirements reviews, design reviews, user acceptance reviews, etc.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and resolve problems related to the SharePoint Server applications.
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Train, manage and provide guidance to junior software development staff.
  • Collaborate with analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications.
  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Oversee the quality assurance of program logic and error resolution.
  • Determine, develop, and maintain user manuals, operations & maintenance manuals, and guidelines.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades for optimal performance of company workstations.
  • Mediate with the company's software and hardware suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
  • Coordinate with network administrators, systems analysts, programmers, and other software engineers to resolve any defects in products or company systems.
  • Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company Web site and Web applications as necessary.
  • Interact regularly with managers, clients, vendors, and agencies to field queries and questions.

What you need to qualify:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Systems Design, MIS or equivalent discipline
  • SharePoint Portal 2003 required, with exposure to Office SharePoint Server 2007 a plus
  • Minimum three years experience in developing web services & web parts and MS Visual Studio experience using C#
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in conjunction with SharePoint Portal interactivity
  • Experience with MS Content Management and Indexing/Search functionality a plus
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
  • Adept at conducting research into software related issues and products
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Highly logical, Strong oral and written communication skills, Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, Self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail.

Some Notes about my Client:

  • Salary range: $75k - $95k annual base salary, depending on qualifications & experience plus an annual incentive plan
  • Relocation: Reimbursement of limited moving costs
  • Vacation: Two weeks annually, Holidays: Ten days annually
